History of Mathematics
at Wuppertal

Wuppertal University is the home of a large group working on the history of mathematics. 

Based in the History Department and the Mathematics Department our interests range from the history of mathematical ideas and concepts to aspects of the cultural, material and social history of mathematics and the mathematical sciences in the modern period (16th to 20th centuries). 

The group is part of the Research Training Group Transformations of Science and Technology since 1800 (funded by the German Research Foundation, DFG), which offers six three-year PhD positions every 18 months.
